    I don't know if you are a developer or a user, but in both cases because you are new to the platform, I will suggest the Applications exam (MB2-700) and the relative course (but I think it's not out yet). You can also che the CRM 2011 Applications exam, the UI it's different, but most concepts are still the same (workflows, marketing lists, orders, ...)

  2. There are free training modules you can actually access directly from Microsofts website, the examination for me I think is the only thing you will be needing to pay. However should you need to present an accreditation of the training that you had for the company to recognize the training that you wet through, yes I can recommend that seeking paid training will be an option.
